5th Annual Krampusnacht

December 12, 2025
Step into the darker side of German holiday tradition at our Krampusnacht celebration! In Alpine folklore, Krampusnacht (Krampus Night) takes place on December 5th, the eve of St. Nikolaus Day, when the fearsome, horned Krampus roams the streets punishing the naughty while St. Nick rewards the nice. While he may look a little scary, our Krampus is here to bring playful mischief and plenty of holiday cheer!
This is a one-of-a-kind holiday party geared toward adults who want to eat, drink, dance, and celebrate the season with a playful nod to German tradition.

Krampusnacht

On Friday night before our Christkindlmarkt, we invite all those Naughty AND Nice during our Annual Krampusnacht!

What once was meant to frighten youngsters into good behavior, Krampusnacht in Europe has taken a twist over the decades and become a fun night of mischief, dancing, and spectating as the “Krampus” of German legend takes over.

“This event is geared toward and most enjoyed by adults; it is a frighteningly fun kind of grown-up Christmas party!”

Krampuslauf and Photo Ops

Experience the thrill of the Krampuslauf as mischievous Krampus characters make their way through the crowd. Join the fun by striking a pose and capture a memorable photo with Krampus!

Holiday Shopping

Discover a festive shopping experience at our event! Browse a variety of local vendors offering unique holiday gifts, then step into our Alpine shops. The Gift Shop is filled with Christmas treasures, steins, and cuckoo clocks, while the Tracht Shop has everything you need to complete your look with a dirndl, lederhosen, or traditional accessories.

Entertainment

Enter our Koal Bag Holding Contest, a playful twist on the classic stein-holding challenge that puts your endurance to the test. Then keep the energy going as our DJ spins the perfect mix to get everyone on the dance floor all night long.

Food and Drinks

Enjoy a variety of traditional German beers on tap alongside a full selection of wines, cocktails, and schnapps. Pair your drinks with delicious German classics like bratwurst, pretzels, and schnitzel, or opt for American favorites such as burgers, fries, and hot dogs. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

A Night of Mischief and Fun

We will showcase a “Krampuslauf” (aka Krampus Run); a parade of many Krampus creatures having wild fun! Our Krampus crew will consist of AGC members only. Non-members may not participate in the parade, nor wear Krampus type masks. WE WELCOME ALL SPECTATORS, BOTH NAUGHTY AND NICE!
This one-of-a-kind evening will feature a DJ to get you dancing in the gloomy evening shade, plus lots of photo ops with the many Krampuses.
German beer, wine and brats and hamburgers will be available for purchase. As well as, German schnapps, cocktails and more!
